Mutual friends brought Joplin native Doniqua Colbert and Omaha native Andy Beaugard together. “Andy and I met three years ago through some friends,” Doniqua says. “We hit it off right away and we loved each other’s company. We couldn’t stand to be apart.”
The couple knew they were getting married, and Doniqua says the real excitement was setting the date. “I wanted a summer wedding, and he wanted a spring wedding,” she says. “We picked late June, so everyone could make it, and the weather was wonderful.”
The two married on Saturday, June 27 at Stonegate Glass Chapel in Highlandville, and a reception followed at The Grande Ballroom in Springfield. Guests enjoyed food catered by Vidies Catering of Lebanon, including crab-stuffed pork tenderloin, spinach cream chicken, roasted garlic potatoes and vegetables.
The couple had a large wedding party that included matron of honor Shara Yandall, maid of honor ShaRhonda Welch and bridesmaids Talitha Beaugard, Tyraia Colbert, Typanee Colbert, Amy Anderson, Heather Andersen, Miriam Williams and Amanda Dillard.
The groom had three people to fill the best man position: Jamin Beaugard, Michael Lee and Steve Rush. Groomsmen were Philando Cooks, Damian Colbert, DeLonte Colbert, Nathan Colbert, E.J. Faulkner, William Fuller, A.J. Green, Lande Scott, Jorge Torres and Corey Bradley.
Today, Doniqua is a territory manager at R.J. Reynolds and is working on completing a masters degree at Missouri State University. Andy is embarking into his calling as a minister and working on completing his studies at Ozarks Technical Community College.
