Krystal & Tyler
September 19, 2009; Stone Chapel, Springfield. As seen in 417 Magazine, February 2010.
Tyler Creach, a Rogersville native, met Sedalia native Krystal Prather, who grew up in Sedalia, while attending Drury University. The two were both accounting majors and on the university’s SIFE team, and they hung out for the first time while on a SIFE trip. After getting to know each other and sharing many more dates over the next two years, Tyler took Krystal to Silver Dollar City during the Christmas season. And with thousands of multicolored lights as a background, Tyler proposed. “I had never been there at Christmas time, so he took me there, found the church and got down on one knee,” she says.
The two were married on September 19, 2009 at Stone Chapel at Drury University. Lindsey Boudinot was Krystal’s maid of honor, and Carrie Winston, Sonja Garrett, Kim Creach and Molly Terry were her bridesmaids. Tyler’s best man was Tyler Rogers, and Brent Creach, Brandon Prather, Filip Garrett and Matt Miller were groomsmen.
A reception followed downtown at Wellington Place. Dining by Design catered the event, providing a delicious array of food including shrimp pasta, parmesan-crusted chicken, salad, rolls, asparagus and alfredo mashed potatoes and cheesecake with a variety of toppings.
A unique touch to the wedding was a poem about love language for accountants, since both Tyler and Krystal are CPAs, read by the officiant, Dr. Peter Browning. Krystal did a lot of the work herself. “I made our invitations, programs and place cards, and I found a great photo book to use as the guest book,” Krystal says.
