Erin and Caleb
June 15, 2008; Playa del Carmen, Mexico
In August 2007, Caleb Masterson began taking Erin Hardy on elaborate dates, and she knew it was just a matter of time before he popped the question. On August 31, Caleb surprised Erin by taking her to dinner and playing her a song on his guitar. Caleb then drove Erin (in the middle of the night) to Des Moines, Iowa, where Erin grew up. After a limo ride to a beautiful lake at sunrise, Caleb finally proposed. The couple spent the rest of the day exploring Erin’s hometown.
Erin and Caleb had a destination wedding at Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The maid of honor was Jamie Sanchez, Erin’s best friend, and the bridesmaid was Caitlin Masterson, Caleb’s sister. The best man was Caleb’s friend Tyler Montileone and the groomsman was friend Ryan Cady. The wedding group had dinner, cocktails and dancing at Ajua Restaurant. A mariachi band performed at the reception, and the bride’s brother, Jonathan Hardy, officiated at the ceremony.
When they returned to Springfield, they held a dessert reception for the rest of the wedding guests, with cake provided by Lola’s Bakery.
The couple stayed in Playa del Carmen and lodged at the Grand Sunset Princess hotel. The two now live in Springfield, where Erin is a check-in specialist and Caleb is a research scientist, both at Jordan Valley Innovation Center.
