Ashley Cooper and Clinton Choate September 18, 2008; Garden of Dreams, Sparta

When groom Clinton Choate and bride Ashley Cooper met for the first time, they did not hit it off. But after meeting again at a friend’s graduation party, they started to get along. Clinton asked Ashley to clear her calendar, and the two knew on their first date that they’d be spending their lives together.

Republic native Ashley picked out her own wedding ring, and when Clinton saw it, he knew it was the right ring. The couple didn’t need a fancy proposal.

Their September 18, 2008 wedding was officiated by Jeff DeBlase. The bride’s best friends, Kimberly Condra and Tasha Mullanack, served as the maid of honor and bridesmaid, respectively. Jason Ledoux, the groom’s best friend, served as the best man, and his other best friend, Nicholas Tarr, served as the groomsman. The bridesmaid’s daughter, Trinity Mullanack, and the bride and groom’s son, Cooper Choate, served as the flower girl and ring-bearer.

The wedding celebration took place at Garden of Dreams in Sparta, with a buffet by Pasta Express. Shannon’s Custom Florals decorated with dark and light purple hydrangeas and lilies, and the cake was made by Celebrations by Sonja.

The couple spent their honeymoon at Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica at the Sandals Resort. Ashley is a dental assistant and Clinton works as a machine operator. The couple now resides in Republic.
