Kristin & Nick

Kristin Stiles and Nick Gilbert graduated from Kickapoo High School together in 2000, but it wasn’t until they met up again. For their first date, the couple shared a long walk at the nature center. “We walked and talked for hours,” Kristin says.
Nick had been writing Kristin sweet love notes and letters since they started dating, so she wasn’t too surprised when he gave her a note that explained how he couldn’t imagine his life without her. She was surprised, though, when she looked up from reading the letter and saw Nick on one knee. He asked her to marry him, and she said yes, of course. “After I said ‘yes,’ we went to our favorite restaurant, D’Arpinos, to celebrate.”
The couple was married on March 14, 2009 at Stone Chapel on Drury University’s campus. Afterward, they celebrated with their friends and family at a reception at Ms. Gilmore’s Carriage House at Hvmboldt Place. Guests enjoyed an Italian-themed buffet by Dining by Design, and ivory-colored roses and hydrangeas by Artistry in Bloom decorated the space.
Jennifer Stiles, who is the bride’s sister, was the maid-of-honor, and the groom’s best friend, Mike Dockery, was the best man.
