Lizzie and Jared
Approximately 10 years after turning down her invitation to prom, Jared Rasmussen decided that Lizzie Arnold should be his lifetime partner. So the childhood friends tied the knot in a very nontraditional, vintage ceremony in her sister’s backyard on September 13, 2008. Inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face, Lizzie designed her own wedding dress and Jared’s mom, Jane Rasmussen, made it. The theme was eclectic and whimsical. It was colorful without a particular color scheme, and there were no bridesmaids or groomsmen. The invitations were hand-designed, and centerpieces were mixed flowers in vintage vases and bottles. Due to rain, tents were set up, including a separate tent for the bride and groom and a ceremony tent that covered a hopscotch pattern chalked on the driveway to serve as an aisle runner.

I've never seen such a sweet mix of nostalgic touches. The tulle and parasols, the antique car and velvet settee - all bring the look together so well. You can't even tell it rained!
I've never seen such a sweet combination of nostalgic and antique touches. From the antique car to the colorful parasols and velvet settee, it looked very romantic. Thanks for sharing your special day with us!
Where did you get the car?
Dear Happy Married,
Thank you for your comments! The antique car is owned by a local who offered up his services for free!! A sweet, handsome fellow who wore his own personal tux too! If you'd like more information, please feel free to give me a call.

Wanted to know where the flower girls dresses were made or bought. I love the idea and it is so simplistic. Please let me know where I can find these.
